Lighting Quality Assessment

Lighting quality has been well defined  by Professor Peter Boyce (and Lighting Consultant), where lighting installations can be divided into three classes of quality (good, bad and indifferent).

(1) Bad Lighting: Bad lighting is lighting that does not allow you to see what you need to see, quickly and easily and/or causes visual discomfort.

(2) Indifferent Lighting: Indifferent quality lighting is lighting that does allow you to see what you need to see quickly and easily and does not cause visual discomfort but does nothing to lift the spirit.

(3) Good Lighting: Good lighting is lighting that allows you to see what you need to see quickly and easily and does not cause visual discomfort but does raise the human spirit.
